Born in kishasa (Congo), Laval had been writting song lyrics way before he was a teenager and always had dreams of playing in a famous congolese band as what is commonly known in congo as an atalaku. At age 11, he for the first time puts music to his word using a little keyboard and his stereo. At age 17 writes a song for a girl that apperently he had a big crush on. This time he decides to take his keyboard tunes and have it replayed in a small size studio. So is born his first official song. That was the first time he ever had to rap and every since he has stuck to the artform which he describes as very interesting due to the fact that in a minutes one can take an audience to the moon and back.

He hopes that his music touches nations in more ways than one, that’s why even though this album is mostly sung in lingala, laval also expresses himself in several other languages such as English and Swahili. When asked why he wanted to first put out his lingala album, laval’s answer seems almost spiritual : «  Because doing the music style i’m doing in lingala gives me a lot of satisfaction. Making it sound good is hard due to the nature of the bantou language and the lack of ‘someone to look up to’ in the music genre. >> Laval hopes to release only 2 or 3 albums and then move on to bringing out new talents.
